KINGDOM HEART 2.5 HD REMIX REVIEW

Standard

When Kingdom Heart 2.5 remix came out, I just had to have it. I mean you’re combining my favorite game with a game couldn’t play on the same console, Birth by Sleep, and cinema for Re: coded which I so didn’t want to play. To top it all off, it’s the final mix version. Needless to say, I was reaching for my wallet.

The gameplay sure didn’t disappoint. Unlike most RPGs, this doesn’t have random encounter and you fight them in real time with a creative weapon called the keyblade. I could go on and on, but I only have so much time. You could customize your weapon and your party with classic Disney and Final Fantasy characters. Be amazed as you unleash various team attacks, and try not to faint as you go into combat with two freaking keyblades or the Command Styles in Birth by Sleep. Combat’s not the only thing you do. You various side quests you could do that will also give you greater rewards. Never has doing day to day child jobs been this epic, but that’s the beauty of the reaction command button.

The soundtrack has got to be one of the best in the series. Try to hold back the feels as you listen to Utada Hikaru’s singles. I guarantee that you’ll love it. The graphics are very well done. With HD, the game looks crisp and clear which if you have played this game on the PS2, will be noticeably better.

The game is packed with fun, adventure, and definitely replayable whenever chance you get. The story, while complex, is very enjoyable with great voice acting and detailed emotion. I give this game a nine out of ten. No game is perfect, but this comes very close.
